ACTIVITIES FOR THOUGHT LEADERS
Activities for Thought Leaders is designed to engage participants in intellectually challenging and transformative sessions resulting in a better understanding of why it is important to care for future generations and what they and their organizations can to do about it. Below are the types of activities that can be tailored to the needs of your organization and participants.
1- Webinars – These 60- to 90-minute sessions introduce viewers to deep futures-thinking and help them understand a) why our current generations should care about future generations and b) what obligations we have to our descendants. These webinars can be tailored to relate to specific issues facing humanity, such as climate change, or to specific goals and the mission of your organization.
2- Facilitated Discussions – These 90- to 120-minute facilitated discussions are designed around a select few topics that relate why we should care about future generations and what our obligations are to future generations. These discussions are limited to no more than 10 participants. For example, the discussion could focus on:
4- Multi-day Workshops – Multi-day workshops go beyond Full-Day Seminars to lay a common futures-thinking foundation and tap into the power of “sleeping on it” to foster an accelerated path to mature thinking in this realm. Participants will make progress and do work on topics of interest and share their products with others. Popular progress can be made around an organization’s planning goals with an eye to:

- assessments of unintended consequences of emerging technologies;
- development of scenarios related to the future of humanity;
- designs for anticipatory institutions; and
- expositions on how their own work and organizations are helping and could better help current generations meet obligations to future generations.
